New figures show drop in life expectancy in Scotland

Figures released today have shown a drop in life expectancy in Scotland.

The National Records of Scotland report shows the 2019-2021 life expectancy rate is the lowest in the UK when compared to the 2018-20 rate in the other countries.

Pamela Nash, chief executive of Scotland in Union, said:

“For most governments, a worsening life expectancy and one that is lower than its immediate neighbours would be a matter of enormous concern.

“But like every other area of domestic responsibility, this won’t register on the SNP’s priority list.

“Instead of taking meaningful action on supporting the NHS, investing in education and boosting the economy, the nationalists still only care about one thing.

“Damning statistics like these will never improve so long as we have a nationalist government in Edinburgh which cares more about breaking up the UK than improving the wellbeing of people and businesses.

“People in Scotland are perfectly entitled to ask: why are things which are under the sole control of the SNP getting so much worse?”

Interesting to see how many Civil Servants refuse to come and work in Scotland when they will be financially worse off through higher taxation.
