Nicola Sturgeon orders civil servants to continue compiling "White Paper Two".

Nicola Sturgeon has ordered taxpayer-funded civil servants to continue compiling a "White Paper Two" on breaking up the UK, despite the Prime Minister refusing her request for another referendum, the Daily Telegraph has reported. Pamela Nash, chief executive of Scotland in Union, said:

“This is a scandalous waste of taxpayers’ money.

“Public services are in crisis in Scotland under the SNP, but the Nationalist administration has chosen to spend money and devote resources to a blueprint for separation.

“If Nicola Sturgeon insists on going ahead with this publication, she must be honest with the public about the reality of breaking up the UK – what taxes she would put up; which hospitals and councils she would take money from; what the impact of a hard border would be for our economy; and what will happen to people’s wages and pensions when the pound is scrapped.

“The truth is that we are stronger together as part of the UK. We do not need a Nationalist government obsessed with dividing communities. Scotland deserves better.”
