Senior SNP MP blasts Nicola Sturgeon for 'dithering' over indyref2

A senior SNP MP has launched a scathing attack on First Minister Nicola Sturgeon as he accused her of "dithering" over a second Scexit referendum.

Angus MacNeil MP has urged the Scottish Government to explore ‘all options’ for securing separation, including holding an unofficial referendum on leaving the UK.

Pamela Nash, chief executive of Scotland in Union, said:

“The majority of people in Scotland don’t want a divisive second independence referendum, and Angus MacNeil’s energies would be put to better use by focusing on what really matters to people.

“If Nicola Sturgeon is dithering on anything, it’s fixing the public services her government has run into the ground.

“Trying to break up the UK via the back door through an unofficial contest is simply not acceptable and would end up in a lengthy legal battle at huge cost to the public purse, with a result that would be discredited. Scotland deserves better.”
