SNP Obsession with Scexit laid bare

SNP Westminster leader, Ian Blackford MP, has said the party is putting ‘all efforts’ into a divisive and unwanted second Scexit referendum this year.

But he warned, if this was not possible, SNP would opt for Plan B in next year’s Holyrood election.

He added: “If we cannot achieve it this year, and all our efforts are going to be on making sure that is the case, but if we don’t do it, then this is the backdrop to the 2021 election.”

Pamela Nash, chief executive of Scotland in Union, said:

“Ian Blackford has confirmed the SNP’s only priority is creating division in our communities.

“What a sorry state of affairs that he thinks an unwanted second referendum on leaving the UK is more important than fixing our struggling health service, educating the next generation of Scots, or investing in social care services.

“This tells you everything you need to know about the SNP. Scotland deserves better.”
