UK General Election called for July 4th

Today, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced that a UK General Election will be held on Thursday 4th July.

Alastair Cameron, chair of Scotland in Union, said:

“This presents a chance for Scots to reject the SNP and their selfish, dangerous priorities.

“The nationalists have obsessed about yesterday’s issues and on stirring up divisions.

“People in Scotland now have an opportunity to elect MPs who will work collaboratively at Westminster to solve today's problems.”

“On July 4, it’s time for people’s priorities, not the SNP’s.”
